Frequently Asked Questions

Q0: What is the cost of a ForceBoard™?

Prices usually range between 15-25k USD ex VAT depending on which ForceBoard product you're interested in.

Q1: What value does a ForceBoard™ offer compared to competitors?

ForceBoard™ provides rapid, multi-domain mechanical testing in single unit desktop based systems, designed for R&D teams and scientists who want results very fast and who wants to avoid multiple large, bulky machines with slow return on investment.

Q2: Is buying from you risk-free?

Yes. All our products come with a user satisfaction guarantee and extensive support. Our sole focus is ensuring you are fully satisfied as a ForceBoard user.

Q3: Do you ship worldwide?

Yes. We ship worldwide via FedEx, except to countries subject to U.S. sanctions.

Q4: Are there any annual maintenance or recurring fees associated with owning a ForceBoard?

No. There are no recurring fees for either hardware or software. Calibration costs are also eliminated, as calibration functionality is integrated into the ForceBoard user interface.

Q5: How well will a ForceBoard integrate into our existing workflows and data systems?

All ForceBoard systems are designed for ease of use and require minimal training. Data is recorded in a standard CSV format, making it readily accessible in applications such as Excel and MATLAB, with results organized in a clear, column-based structure.

Also, tests can be started and run automatically, with the system handling stopping and saving the data file. You can also add multiple measurements to the same file and include comments (from within the user interface) for each test without overwriting previous data, making the workflow fast and very efficient.

Q6: Is ForceBoard data AI chat agent / LLM compatible?

Yes, since ForceBoard stores every measurement in a standard CSV format with labeled columns, your data can be imported directly into Excel, MATLAB, Python, or AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini for faster analysis, visualization, and report generation.

Q7: Can you customize the included software or hardware for our application(s)?

Yes, we can modify any part of the ForceBoard to fit your specific need.

Q8: What is the detectable resolution in a measurement with a ForceBoard?

This depends on the maximum capacity of the load cells we install for you. The most common option is to use a 100Newton (N) maximum capacity load cell for the vertical direction and a 50N max capacity load cell for the horizontal direction. Together with the analog to digital converter in the ForceBoard microcontroller this gives you a detectable resolution of 0.1N (10grams / 0.022lb) in the vertical direction and 0.05N (5 grams / 0.011lb) in the horizontal direction.

For some low force applications we install a 50N load cell in the vertical direction and a 10N load cell in the horizontal direction. The 10N load cell gives you a resolution of around 0.01N (1 gram / 0.0022 lb). This is a set-up used in most tactile friction testing systems we sell where the forces are low.

Buying a ForceBoard with lower maximum capacity load cells (but higher resolution) does not affect the cost of the system.
