There has never existed an easier method to measure coefficients of friction in high detail between any two materials! The ForceBoard is ideal for coefficient of friction (COF) measurements and stick-slip testing . Through its unique design it can even be used to study tactile friction between a human and a material!
The below pictures describe how to conduct a coefficient of friction test (both static and kinetic) between a paper note and a rubber material, please note that it works for any material combination! Using the new sled feature you can even use it to analyze plastic films and paper sheets with a specific contact area and a constant normal force :

By pressing and sliding the hand held test object against the object mounted on the ForceBoard, the normal (vertical red arrow) and friction force (horizontal red arrow) needed to analyze the coefficient of friction are created! The forces are continuosly registered by our powerful ForceBoard Analyzer software!
